July 10 - Tjärnblom
Tjärnblom, Swedish for "woodland lake flower", is a Scandinavian-style string band featuring a beautiful blend of Nyckelharpa, Octave Mandolin, Harmonium and Cello. They travel a modern "Snoose Boulevard Highway" in their musical journey, playing a repertoire of both old and new Swedish, Finnish, Minnesotan and original tunes for dancing and for listening. They’ve performed across the Midwest, and have appeared on Minnesota Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion show.
July 24 - Kathy G and the Hot Lemons
Kathy G & the Hot Lemons features Heights residents Kathy Glascock (v), Brian Glascock (dr), Steve DeGennaro (gtr), and Dave DeGennaro (bs), as well as South Minneapolitan, Paul Porter (gtr). They play a variety of jazzy R&B, folk, and rock and throw in the occasional original. Outside of the band, Kathy is a visual artist and cook, Brian (original drummer for The Motels) gardens and drums with Dire Wolf, Steve is the creator of the Dashner Design & Restoration YouTube channel, Dave plays bass/keys with Zed Leppelin (Led Zeppelin tribute), and Paul performs solo and plays bass with Scott Zosel.
Aug 14 - The Jolly Pops (11 am to noon)
The Jolly Pops (Chanhassen, MN) combine upbeat, original music with a host of children’s standards for a concert that is sure to please kids and adults alike. Take a fun ride with the Happy Dads and their puppet friends as they sing about alligator dancing, popsicles, trains, pet dinosaurs…and everything in between!
Aug 14 - St. Anthony Park Community Band
The Band is in its 43rd season and plays various styles, from classic British band music to Broadway, pop, and jazz.
Aug 28 - IPSO FACTO
Ipso Facto is a Minneapolis-based reggae/funk/jazz band that has played for audiences around the world. The rock-style reggae band was formed in 1986 by three brothers: Wain, Juju, and Greg McFarlane.
