11th Annual Heights Idol
For the past 10 years, the Columbia Heights Recreation Program Coordinator has hosted Heights Idol, a program that showcases local talent, invites celebrity judges and awards great prizes to the winners! Heights Idol will be held outdoors during the Heights Jamboree - City Celebration. This family-friendly event is singing competition with a youth and an adult category. After the event is finished, many attendees stay in the area for the spectacular Fireworks display at dusk.

This season we are hoping to attract talent of all sorts to audition for this FUN, community event. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 24, 6:30-8:30p.m. Heights Idol will be held outside of JPM Murzyn Hall (on the east side) on an outdoor stage, unless inclement weather forces the competition indoors of Murzyn hall. 

Furthermore, we are planning to have celebrity judges again this year! "Who?" You might ask. Well, this year at Heights Idol the celebrity judges will be award-winning news broadcaster Robyne Robinson, President & Artistic Director of the Chanhassen Dinner Theater Michael Brindisi, and our own Columbia Heights alum Pat Proft who is a Screenwriter, Actor, Radio Host, and a Stand-up Comedian!
