About The Park
Formerly known as Mathaire Park, Ramsdell Park was renamed in honor of CHPD Officer Curtis Ramsdell, shot in the line of duty on July 30, 1977.  This is a busy neighborhood park. The wading pool is monitored by the Public Works Department and is generally open every day in June, July, and August. The park building is available for a rental fee to use for private events. The picnic shelter is available to use on a first come, first served basis. The Recreation Department and Columbia Heights School District hold many softball games on this newly updated ballfield. Call Public Works for maintenance concerns (763-706-3700).
