CH Firefighters Undergo Live-Burn Training (Photos)
It was all hands on deck Monday at the Columbia Heights Fire Department for live-burn training. This type of training is required by structural firefighters once each year. A trainer from Fire Instruction Rescue Education Inc. set up the burn by igniting planks of wood inside a specialized trailer and oversaw the training sessions, which allow firefighters to work with live fire in a highly controlled environment.
You can see a live burn for yourself and meet your local firefighters at the annual Fire Safety Open House Sept 28, 11 am to 2 pm, at the Public Safety Building.
