2020 Election Timeline: Important Dates
Believe it or not, the 2020 election season is upon us. Below are some important dates to keep in mind. Find more general information at

Jan 17: Absentee voting window for presidential primary begins. Residents can vote at City Hall in person during normal business hours or request a ballot be sent by mail. More info at

Feb 11: Last day to preregister before the presidential primary.

Feb 25: Party precinct caucuses, 7 pm. Locations decided by the parties. For more information, go here.

Feb 29: Special Saturday absentee voting. City Hall will be open for absentee voting for the presidential primary Sat, Feb 29, 10 am to 3 pm.

March 2: Absentee voting window for presidential primary closes.

March 3: Presidential primary. Polls open from 7 am to 8 pm. Must select a party when voting.

May 19: Candidate filing period opens for municipal elections

June 2: Candidate filing period closes

June 26: Absentee voting for state primary begins

July 21: Last day to preregister for the state primary

Aug 11: State primary Election Day, polls open 7 am to 8 pm

Sept 18: General election absentee voting begins.

Oct 20: Last day to preregister for the general election.
