City Provides Coronavirus Information, Adopts Response Plan

On Mon, March 9, the City Council adopted an emergency preparedness plan developed by the Columbia Heights Fire and Police Departments that provides public safety staff with guidelines on how to act in response to any threat level of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Follow this link to visit the City's information resources page for summaries of the current situation, links to useful sites, and alert flyers and one-sheets available in multiple languages. The site will be updated as new information comes in.

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. Risk of infection is dependent on exposure. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid close contact with people who are sick or showing symptoms, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, avoid large gatherings when possible, avoid unnecessary close social interactions away from home, and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

If you are sick, please stay home. Cover your mouth with a tissue when you cough and throw the tissue in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
