Would you like to take a more direct role in your City government? Apply now to serve on a Columbia Heights board or commission. It's a great way to become actively involved and influence the policies, actions and progress of our community.

Number of open seats: 1 Planning Commission, 3 Library Board, 2 Park and Recreation Commission, 2 Traffic Commission, 2 Charter Commission. Terms are for 3 years with the exception of one Library Board seat which is 1 year to fill a vacated term, and the Charter Commission, which is a 4-year term.

To apply, fill out and submit the Board and Commission Member Application by Feb 28: Applications can be downloaded at www.columbiaheightsmn.gov/boardsandcommissions. Bring to City Hall, mail, or email ntingley@columbiaheightsmn.gov. Paper copies can be picked-up at City Hall or the Columbia Heights Public Library.

Interviews are in mid-March (dates March 8 and/or March 15 dependent on number of applicants). All positions require an interview except those only applying for Charter Commission (appointed by Chief Judge of the Judicial District). Appointments are made March 22 by Council. Terms for those appointed start April 1.
