Make Plans Now for National Night Out Aug 1

All neighborhoods in Columbia Heights are encouraged to participate in the 2023 National Night Out Tue, Aug 1.

National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that encourages residents to get out in the community, hold block parties or smaller gatherings, and get to know their neighbors. It’s also a great way to promote community-police partnerships, prevent crime, and enjoy a summer evening!

Participation has grown over the years with more than 1,000 City residents attending annually. Events can be as simple as several neighbors dropping by a host's yard for a burger to church-sponsored galas. Food is usually brought and shared.

If you are hosting a block party that requires a street to be blocked, please fill out this form and return it to the Columbia Heights Police Department. To be able to block the street and guarantee a visit from the Police Department you'll need to register by July 24.

For information regarding National Night Out in Columbia Heights including hosting your own event, please contact Officer Bill Monberg at (763) 706-8142.
