Live Burn Scheduled for Oct 7

The Columbia Heights Fire Department will be conducting a live burn at 841 49th Ave NE on Sat, Oct 7. The live burn is expected to take place from 8 am to 4 pm.

Safety tips for neighbors:

• Ensure your windows are up on your vehicles and if you can cover them or put them in a garage, that would be ideal.
• Close any windows in your house or garage the morning of the burn.
• Make sure you don’t have any laundry on the lines or outdoors during the morning hours.

The Fire Department welcomes those who wish to watch the training exercise. Please ensure that you stay a safe distance from the property when the training burn is in process.

This type of training is ideal because it gives firefighters real-world experience in a controlled setting with multiple instructors on hand.
