Fire Department Open House this Saturday, Oct 14

Columbia Heights Fire would like to invite you to the Public Safety Building on Oct 14, from 11 am to 2 pm. Kids, young and old, can spray a real fire hose, watch a fire demonstration, meet local firefighters, and more!

The Columbia Heights Fire Department is hosting its annual Fire Prevention Open House as part of Fire Prevention Week, Oct 8-14. This year’s FPW campaign “Cooking safety starts with YOU” works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take when cooking to keep themselves and those around them safe. According to the National Fire Prevention Association, 49% of home fires are caused by cooking, showing there is still much work to do when it comes to educating the public about how to stay safe when cooking.
